Movie Review: Moneyball (2011)

Simon Letchford

There are so many reasons to enjoy this terrific movie, from the wonderful acting (Brad Pitt, with Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his final performances), a lightning fast script by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, A Few Good Men) and for negotiators, some of the best trading scenes ever - in this case, baseball team managers trading, um, people.

Keen negotiators should watch for the clever use of adjournments, structuring expectations, and establishing the value of concessions before trading them.

For everyone else, whether you love sports or not, just sit back and enjoy one of 2011’s best movies.
